Edit: Initially this extension refused to activate after I installed it. However, once I went into my browser's extensions settings and opened the details for this extension where I manually enabled access to file URLs (this was disabled by default) and then restarted my browser, it started working. The same solution applies to similar extensions I tested, and this works on both Chrome and Vivaldi.
