This extension prevents web pages from opening pop-up windows of any kind. When the extension is enabled, all newly opened windows will get directed to the active window (in the currently active window before this window gets opened). You can toggle the extension on and off from the toolbar button to enable the single-window mode or disable it. When the extension is enabled, all windows are forced to stay in the same active window. So if a website issues a popup window, instead the extension moves the newly created popup window into the active window and then focuses on this newly created window (same as dragging a tab from one window to another window). When the extension is disabled, popup opening is permitted. Usage Preview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mFKwmlt6RU Notes: Even if the extension is enabled, the user can still open new windows using Ctrl + N or Command + N shortcuts. Doesn't always work, e.g. if a tab is already open because you clicked a link and then clicking the same link that would open the same tab with the same "_target", the popup opens as a window, the old tab gets closed correctly but the new popup should also be moved to my active window.
Warning: This makes all "restore session" tabs and tabs from other devices etc all open in one window too! Also, it is buggy when opening a mobile phone session on PC, it opens one tab in one window and the rest in another. I currently have a single window with hundreds of tabs which I'll have to sort out manually due to this extension. Because of these issues, I unfortunately cannot use this extension.
Had to restart Chrome and click the extension icon to have it show a checkbox to active, but then it worked great!
